Anything but Samsung.
If you're trying to budget, LG is good right now. H&G obsesses about Speed Queen and while rightfully so, you can buy whatever makes you happy. It doesn't hurt to go bigger than what you need for washing machines. I've delt with a compact Maytag washer and it was the bane of my existence, even for a Maytag.
Whirlpool, Kenmore, Bosch are all still reputable brands.

I just bought a whirlpool last month with a removable agitator. The wife has not complained yet. It was $800 with a 5 year warranty.
