Not too subtle brag: Just got back this afternoon from a tour and lecture in Studio Two at Abbey Road.
The history of that building and the music recorded in there is phenomenal.

Looking at photos, and studio 2 looks really high. ...almost like a gymnasium.
Is the ceiling tall in that room?
I remember hearing an interview with John Lennon and he made it sound like you had to walk up a lot of stairs to get into the control room.

Both are true. The stairs were added years ago when they moved the control room to the second floor. Originally it was on the ground floor where the musicians were.
