I shared this same outlook but am starting to think I've read too much into it.
It would make sense that Caden & Colin want to announce on the same day so they can end this process and both focus on the upcoming season.
Sure, it does feel like an easter egg to a lot of us here but it's also possible they just want to announce and be done with it on the same day - regardless of where the other one is going.
