It's all dealerships. They pay flat rate. I get it from their end, but it doesn't really work when the local shop down the road is paying hourly for the same you would make on a good day

From what I have seen guys that work make bank on flat rate.

Example from years ago; Dodge paid 8 hours to change the trans in their minivans. A lot of those trannies needed changed. One guy at the local Dodge dealer did nothing but change trannies.

Two every day. One before lunch and one after. He was doing pretty well.

I doubt they have lowered the rates as the dealer isn't looking to take a cut to his revenue.
