After experiencing discomfort in my chest I finally saw a cardiologist. After lasting only 5 minutes on a stress test he told me he was surprised I was still alive.
We went to the hospital where a heart cath revealed 95% blockage in the widowmaker and 90% blockage in two other arteries. The blockages were too close to other arteries for stents to be effective so I had a triple bypass the next day. I was 47 at the time.
Now 16 years later my last stress test results were equal to a sedentary 35-40 year old....so all is well and I obviously am taking better care of my body now.
