Upwards of 4k once you send the heads in to get checked/reworked. I've read that once the cam grinds down some the metal flowing through the rest of the engine--even flushed after cam swap--pretty much does it in in short order. You have to catch it very early and I saw some "glitter" in the oil on the last change...basically to late.

The truck has been flawless up until this point and has done all I asked of it...I just plain like it. I'll decide soon enough.

I really like my truck too. Have driven it since new. 2002 Chevy with 360k miles. I have been thinking about engine / transmission swap too. Might stop by Kand M auto in BR and get a price. Online says they do Jasper engines. If I find anything out I will post back.
