Exactly. The only outlier that I know is a pediatric neurosurgeon that got a helluva an offer after his fellowship. That being said, I believe only 7 of these fellows come out to practice annually.

Neurosurgeons CAN make 800k out of training (Can be up to 16 years of training)and make more than pediatric neurosurgeons. The trend to leave private practice started to gain steam in the late 90's and early 2000's. Also, the life of a busy neurosurgeon is all work, no way I'd want that.
