Buy tickets when you get there. I have been 5 times and I never buy tickets in advance, even for the championship round. Try to book hotels now. Some times Council Bluffs, Iowa (just across the bridge or across the city line) has cheaper and more available rooms. Book flights now if you want to fly (Southwest is the best because you cancel and still get flight credit and you can book multiple segments, betting on which games LSU might play) or plan on driving. I've driven from Texas and it is about a 10 - 11 hour drive from Waco. The entire tournament lasts for a week and a half (June 16 - 26), so pretty expensive to stay the whole time. Best 4 days are June 16 - 19. You get to see all 8 teams play at least twice as there are 2 games per day. Alternatively, you can wait and see if LSU gets in the finals and go June 24 - 26. We used to go the first 4 days and drive back home and watch the finals, if LSU made it. The last 2 times (2009 and 2017) that LSU was in the finals, we waited to see if LSU got into the finals before we got in the car and drove to Omaha for those 2 or 3 games. Try to find a hotel in downtown Omaha, if possible. It is a very walkable city and good restaurants and bars. If you have kids, the Zoo is great as well. I am sure others have more stories, but it is one of the best college sporting events in all of college sports and the local Omaha residents and businesses love LSU fans.
