Peterson or Davis..are upgrades imho.

Saban was a 43-26-1 HC when Harry Met Sally aka Saban became LSU's HC..

Miles was 28-21 when when LSU came calling..

Both were bowl game bums at their last stop before LSU, yet won the BCS title here, by finally locking down La's talent that had won titles for FSU(Warrick Dunn) and Fla(Ike Hilliard) and Miami(Ed Reed)..etc..

There at least twenty college HC out there that would take the job if offered, that could easily maintain the course with La's output, also it's proximity to Texas and the Coast/Panhandle.

I don't know if the current "hot seat" culture can continue to thrive. Look at some of the programs that fire average coaches or struggling coaches, they are no better than they were 4 years ago. For every Nick Saban there are at least 2 ed orgerons.

This new hot seat culture is a trend and I think that when coaches like Charlie Weiss, Ed Ogeron, and Greg Robinson fail to put a materially better team on the field than their predecessors (don't give me this ty willingham bullshite Weiss has been there for 4 years and his only 2 good years were with Willingham's recruits)

Change does not necessarily guarantee success, only higher costs and I think AD's will see this trend. Bottom line is that I think it will be more acceptable to have 8-5, 7-6 seasons in the future.
