re: Former FFA boys rally here

I was on our school's FFA talent team. I played keyboards. The bass and lead guitar players were both black guys with huge afros. We played a short version of "Skin Tight" by the Ohio Players. All the other bands were country bands. We won second place at McKinney, Texas. I think there were a lot of FFA members who listened to R and B and rock.

Another friend and I went to the state meet in San Antonio (and can't remember why). At that time, downtown San Antonio was pretty rough. We put on our FFA jackets and violated the rules by roaming alone around downtown. We got lost and ended up in an alley behind some Mexican biker bar.

We asked a guy who was out in the alley for help getting back to the hotel. He says to hold on and goes into the bar. He comes out with 2-3 other rough looking bikers and I'm thinking "we're about to die." They were, however, very nice. Looking back, I'm sure they were thinking "who are these country arse kids hanging out here at night."
