Can't believe you posted this. I have the exact same thing. Is mostly in the right shoulder, started several months ago, usually happens at night. I can feel it coming on kind of like a pinch in the back of my shoulder joint and sometimes subsides, but mostly gets worse to the point of agony. I say it feels like "brain freeze" (but in my shoulder) from drinking something really cold, but it won't stop. Takes hours to subside and there is so sleeping or even finding a comfortable way to sit until it does.
Stopped for a few weeks then came back with a worse than ever.
