I've had a fire on a pit boss pellet grill but it was when my wife tried to use it when I wasn't there even though I told her not to because I knew it needed to be cleaned. However, I know some of the newer models are much easier to clean. Also, after the fire I got a gravity fed charcoal and I like that one much better. It's a little more work to get started up but it's not bad at all. Still easier than traditional charcoal but not quite as easy as a propane or pellet grill where you just press a button. But the flavor is better and it gets hotter, faster.
