Memo to Miles: RUN THE FREAKIN' BALL!!!!!!

Ok, I have been mostly supportive so far during this disappointing season, but I swear to God if Miles does not run the freakin' ball with the horses that he has on this team, I am going to convert to a Negatiger.
Charles Scott- 971 yards, will have 1,500 yards before seasons end
Ridley- ran like a damn horse the last game with fresh legs for 51 yards in only 5 carries, cutting through the defense like a knife through butter. This kid will be a stud for the Tigers.
Crazy Legs Murphy- has the ability to take a swing pass and turn it into a 20 yard gain- Lee better get the ball to him on time!
Keiland- what can you say, when the guy gets in the open field he is just downright dangerous with the football in his hands. Threat to take it the distance.
Trindon- use as a decoy but also a threat to go the distance. DO NOT RUN HIM AROUND THE EDGES! Use Trindon sneaking through the line behind big Herm and disappearing only to come out on the other side.
MILES- DO NOT TRY TO THROW THE BALL EARLY. CROWTON ARE YOU LISTENING??? DO NOT PUT JARRET LEE IN A POSITION TO THROW A PICK 6 EARLY IN THE GAME.
RUN THE GODDAM BALL! IF YOU DON'T YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE THE FANBASE.

I agree - run it three times and if you get a first down run it three more times and continue this cycle until you score a TD or punt! Then let the Defense kick some as for a change!

what if we go 3 & out 3 times and are down 17-0 in the first quarter?

I agree, no more pick 6's on the first play of the game. Although, a play action pass coming out of the I-formation after we have picked up a few first downs would be nice...

Before the season began some of the sportscasters that picked up high said all our young qbs had to do was hand the ball off. Still good advice!

I agree with your offensive gameplan. I hope we do well on the defensive side of the ball.

No one dimensional team can win a big game though... It's impossible

RUN THE FREAKIN BALL!

I think we play-action out of the I on first down and try a deep throw to Byrd...our early I-formation runs are very predictable so this should draw the safety in. The pass may, or may not, be successful, but it should soften the D a little.

yes please run the ball. bama in only allowing 62 yards a game. so please run the ball!!!

quote:i AGREE, but we must make them respect our ground game first, run up and down the field for 100 yards, and then all of a sudden the play action pass with Byrd and Toliver down the sidelines becomes a very dangerous play.

Well, we have to try and run it so Lee can settle in. I worry about our DB's is all. Let's hope the Defense shows up this weekend.

Scott is a man and is going to truck your DB's and Safety's.

I agree..I think bama will clog the hell out of the line of scrimmage to take away the run.

From today's Advocate:
Top-ranked Alabama, and rightly so, touts how its defense has cut down opposing rushers. Bama is second in the nation in rushing defense (65.6 yards per game), has allowed one rushing TD and no back to reach 100 yards. In the team’s notes is a breakdown of every running back Bama has stopped. Clemson’s James Davis and C.J. Spiller? 20 yards, combined. Tulane’s Andre Anderson? 32 (91 yards below his average). Georgia’s Knowshon Moreno? 34 (76 yards below his average). Arkansas’ Michael Smith? 91 (32 yards below his average).
I'm not saying the team can't run against 'Bama, but ... well, they're gonna have to figure out how to succeed where other teams have failed. I suppose you could argue that we have a better o-line to run behind than do Clemson, UGA and Arky. That's possible. But I also think about the Florida game, where we got no traction from our running game at all. It'll be interesting to see what happens, it'll be hard to stay in the game with less than 150 yards rushing.

that's the dilemma though, if you end up putting him in 3rd and 8's he'll be facing all-out blitzes. I think you have to have balance to win the game, and you need to establish balance right out of the gate. If I thought our defense could keep Bama in the teens, I might say otherwise.

i think lsu will be able to run on bama. Just like georgia had this vaunted run defense and scott and company ate them alive. It seems in most games i watched including tulane, we run the ball down the other teams throat score, then lee is put in to play and starts slinging it around and the offense goes stagnant.

in the Auburn game the running game really didn't get going until Lee started completing some passes.

I agree that running is the strength of the offense in its current state. However, against any quality defense, if you don't keep the linebackers and defensive backs honest with the legitimate threat of a pass, even if it's a short, relatively safe route, your running game will get shut down.
