While different things certainly work for different ppl and AA may not be for everyone for those or you who have said things like "I went to a meeting and didn't like it" or "everyone was too old" or "it felt like a cult" but still have problems with drugs or alcohol try a different meeting

AA is a little like church in that the tone, tenor, and demo of each meeting is different so while they all follow the same basic outline the experience at different meetings can differ quite a bit
