We have a trip to excellence in April with other couples. However the Sunday we check out me and the wife plan on staying until Tuesday. The flight out is at 10am Tuesday so we plan on staying hotel close to airport Monday night. Is it too much to leave Sunday morning and spend night on Isla? Would stay most the day Monday also. Our should we stay somewhere in Cancun area? We have spent a week in Isla Mujeras 5-6 years ago and really enjoyed the island. Our we crazy for trying to attempt a one night trip? Thanks

It's easily doable. For one night I'd stay close to Hidalgo Street. Just have your hotel book the ferry tickets and shuttle to the airport.

Buckeye we ate at an expensive restaurant one night while on our last trip. Very small and kind of in the middle of the island in a non tourist spot. We went to a recommendation that was posted here but they where packed and recommended this spot. Not sure if you would know spot but was some of the best food ever. Very small and expensive for the island. Not much traffic but still a good crowd. If you don’t know this place what would be your favorite restaurant and what to order? Thanks your the best.

If I had one night I’d go to Bastos in the middle of the island. Get arrachera flank steak. It’s fantastic, authentic and cheap. On Hidalgo I’d eat at Fredy’s or Dopis. I’ve haven’t been to the island post Covid so hopefully all these places survived. Great people, great food and easy on the pocket book. Enjoy!
I’m not sure about where you went. We stay near Playa Norte and usually don’t venture far.
