That’s a coincidence that he’s from Magnolia. My grandfather grew up in McComb and he played football for LSU before WWII then went to the war and came back and coached under Bernie Moore then became head football coach at Bolton High in Alexandria. I started listening to LSU games with him when I was a child on WWL (John Ferguson) and got hooked. He’d take me to the Tulane game every year either in the Dome or Tiger Stadium. We drove up to Jackson every year for the Ole Miss game. Back in those days they played a double header in Jackson. Ole Miss vs LSU early game and Miss State late game usually against Bama. Fun times
