Was on a dive trip in West Palm Beach during Spring Training in the 90’s, ran into Red Sox Manager Kevin Kennedy and several Sox players in a S Fla strip club.
Bunch of assorted WCW and WWE wrestlers over the years, too many to name. Sat down with Ric Flair twice and had drinks. Interesting guy once you get past his persona, he really felt strongly about giving customers coming to shows their money’s worth. He really seemed conflicted trying to live his life 24/7 as his character. Almost felt sorry for him.
Spent a weekend watching Spring Training at the old Dodgertown in Vero Beach, talked with Vin Scully and Tony Dungy while standing in line to get DodgerDogs.
Chatted with Jose Canseco standing in line to get dinner, he was probably the most empty headed person I’ve ever been around.
I was staying in a motel in Kingsland Georgia working on a submarine at Kings Bay, drinking liquor in the pool floating around on a raft. A few guys got in the pool, asked if they could have a drink. Turned out they were Bachman Turner Overdrive, and were playing that night at Snorkels Night Club. Drank that afternoon away with those guys, then hung out backstage during/after the show.
Bill Murray lives in the Charleston area, have run into him several times.
