So far under Davis, the oline has struggled the last two years. Some of it is personnel. The issues on special teams related to oline is inexcusable with players missing key assignments.
Until LSU gets a bell cow at RB and defenses start respecting the run game will help the passing game because right now teams are gonna tee off on the QB because they don't respect the running game.
Coach O made the right decision migrating to the spread offense but you can't neglect the running game. Even Bama struggled with their normally dominant run game last year and it cost them a natty.
Daniels was fine, Nuss will play a lot in the Southern game, probably most of the second half.
It was much easier with LSU trying to come back because FSU got way too conservative protecting the lead which most teams do. If they call Taylor in bounds the game is over.
With that said, LSU has to get much more creative offensively to get the run game going and hopefully Emery will help at RB when he returns. They also need to get Daniels more hot reads when you know the blitzes are coming. LSU still has not thrown to the RB's like they did with Heliare in 19 but they are making that effort to get the TE's more involved. It's hard to get the RB out when they need him to offset the OL deficiencies.

quote:Ummmm......they did call him inbounds. However, he got a first down and thus the clock stops to set the ball.
