How are y'all feeling about the class so far? Haven't been around here too much.

Was listening to jox the other day...maybe it was Rodney Orr as a guest. Anyways, he seemed to think Saban was really going to hit the portal hard this upcoming period.

I could see that...sadly I can only see it getting crazier and crazier

I think in this landscape, when Saban looks at the team, if he doesn't have at least a 4th or 5th round projected draft pick starting or rapidly developing, Saban will try to upgrade with transfers. To many other schools are grabbing players that are game changers and with the way this is going, players from smaller schools who could get drafted later rounds will look to go to a program like ours.

This class as a whole (not ours, the entire cycle) is a down year. Talent is just not as good.

Watts and Bone over at BoL have basically said we've got a handful (less than 10) targets left that are really being recruited. We'll try to flip a few guys we like and maybe add a few more. But it's, by design, not going to be the most dominate #1 ranked class. We just didn't approach it that way, given our huge class last year and the talent drop this year. We've got a few high end guys in this class and then a lot of high-ceiling project players. We will likely take 5-10 guys out of the portal.

The only guy of consequence that's really left is Seaton. He's a must get.

2025 class is setting up to be absolutely massive though. I would expect another very highly rated class in 2025.
