Lazy arse crew and airline.
Turn the APU on and run the cart down the aisle.
We had an Envoy flight few weeks ago and pilots didn’t turn APU on until we pushed back. Gate power was not working. We then sat for 20 minutes before getting IFR release and starting the engines.

No APU, no external power, and no engines running? How was the airplane powered?
