That goes to my point, it wasn't the peak of Alabama under Saban because it didn't have the combination of elite talent across the board with excellence on the field
Are you talking about 2019 or 2020? I was referring to the 2019 football team. 2020 was a better overall team than their 2019 counterparts because they had a comparable QB and RB corps, a better and more experienced offensive line, and a WR unit that was just as dominant as the 2018/2019 group. The 2020 defense was also better than the 2019 unit.

I disagree based on talent, they played the game BETTER than their 2019 counterparts, that much I'll grant you and they played in a messed up Covid season with half-empty stadiums. That's why I compared them to the 2018 Villanova because that wasn't an Uber-talented team but every component played their part to PERFECTION.

Even accounting for Mac Jones' spectacular season, he vs Tua in a talent battle isn't a comparison, Tua's more explosive and Jones owes a lot of what he did to DeVonta

They lost Waddle for basically half the season and it was basically the Smith/Metchie show (mostly Smith since he gained 1,800 yds), not at all a talent comparison to Ruggs/Jeudy IN ADDITION TO Waddle/Smith. I'm not backing down from this as I said previously.

I did not disagree with this, NOW it wasn't the talent freak show of 2021 OR 2022 with Anderson, Mathis, Turner, To'o To'o, Battle all performing at the peak of their powers relatively but anytime Christian Barmore and Patrick Surtain are your top guys on D, bodes pretty well for you.
