With Mississippi State, it was a convergence of bad things. Lost leadership guys like Mangum 2 years ago, then alphas like Tanner Allen last year, and culminating in the loss of Landon Sims and closer Stone Simmons in consecutive days. Sims, an alpha, struck out 10 of the 11 he faced in the game he was injured. Very difficult year for a proud program.
