I am not young but only have been playing golf for last 5 years or so. I used a yardage book at Beaver Creek and really enjoyed having that compared an app. I’ve never seen another yardage book in Baton Rouge area.

Anyone know of other courses still selling these? Have they gone obsolete by way of range finders and cart screens?

Great, now you people will be walking off yardages from two fairways over en route to a 6 hour round of shooting 90.

I wonder how they do it. You think the course helps them out and gives them the info for a little cut?

Never mind. I just did a little research and it looks like they laser-scan every course/green. They say the clubs reach out to them to come scan. Pretty cool.

That wasn’t meant towards you. In general, we don’t need people using yardage books in a regular round of golf. I have lots of yardage books that I bought from courses around the world. However, I have never used them while playing.

Pretty sure these were made illegal this year. Not sure if you care but some people are a stickler for the rules.

Rules question, events like the state am allow range finders without slope. Could you use slope in practice round and make notes as to a holes slope from fairway/tee to green and chart off that during competition?

Re Slope, state am.... You can use slope in practice round, but not during tournament play.
