I agree with him.
I dont think booking photos should become public unless the person is found guilty.
I think the same about information being held by local law enforcement offices. If a person isn't charged and convicted, I dont think information about their dealings with the police should be available to the public.

These laws are good based in promoting good government. For initial arrests, each jail is supposed to keep a record with all inmates booked into the jail. The openly stated purpose that they are public records is so that the State cannot hold secret prisoners. Anything that erodes that policy should be looked at with suspicion.
Same is true of information filed in the criminal dockets

And, you're looking at it in regard to the system.
Our fellow citizens are morons, and you have to trust them with your record. Do you trust your fellow citizens to be reasonable and logical?
With a phone call, the right witness, and a subsequent foia request, I can wreck your life.
The man in the white truck kicked a puppy. There wasn't any evidence, but now there is a record of you being a puppy kicker. Ohhhh. It's not true 7 years later when you're running for office? How do we know the good ole boy club didn't just cover for a puppy kicker?
The man in the white truck called a sweet black boy the n word when he walked out of that store. Maybe the man in the white truck exposed himself after calling the sweet black kid the n word.
