Not necessarily.
So you've read the whole bill? I don't understand why it needs to be that long of a bill to decriminalize marijuana. I also don't trust Jerry Nadler and the other arse holes in congress to put forth a clean bill.
These are the same people that wanted banks to report on any individual who had a bank account and made transactions totaling over $600 in a year.
I'm for decriminalizing it, but I also don't trust any of these arse holes to put forth a clean bill that does what the NBC new headline says. The devil is always in the details and they lie from Jerry Nadler all the way down to the corporate press. Don't let your support for the issue cloud your judgement.

The bill removed weed listed as a scheduled drug, addressed some tax issues with weed commerce, addresses liabilities and methods of payment for weed distributors, addresses IRS issues with respect to weed, etc. I haven't read every single word of the bill but what the bill does is essentially make weed like any other product bought and sold in the united states, so it covers a lot more than just simply saying "weed is no longer criminalized at the federal level" because they have to address more than just that aspect of it. But no, it doesn't have a bunch of pork unrelated to weed at all.
Bottom line, Republicans voted against it because Democrats introduced it. And the same thing would have happened if Republicans introduced it. That's what politics have come to in this country. Bipartisan legislation rarely exists anymore.
