"Where's My Wife?"

Hard to believe it was 3 years ago when this was the question that made a fanbase quickly turn against its coach only two games into his LSU career. The brooked trout look at the end of the game was one that many became sick of.
Two days later, on the Les Miles Show (and three days before the State game), a caller asked Miles (in an attempt to belittle him):
"Coach...you ok? You sound a little nervous?"
My take on Les is that he's not an X's and O's guy. He's more of a Dale Brown kinda guy who surrounded himself with smart people (right now, that's questionable to a degree). He's a CEO type for sure...let everyone else get it done under your careful eye. So, to answer an earlier question from a Gump...no, Miles is not stupid. He's a damn strong leader with presidential skills.

It's easy to be tough on Les right now...but I think since he's given us so many memorable games, I ought to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think if the defense doesn't improve, he'll make staff changes after the season.
He's just built up too much "capital" to hang him out to dry after the first loss of a year in which I expect 2-3 losses.

True...that's some serious capital.
It really does amaze me, though, about the 180 degree turn that people did on Les from that Tennessee game to last December at the SEC c'ship. I was sort of one of them. I didn't really care what he had done or didn't do on that day. I was impressed with a guy who turned down his belovd alma mater to stay put. From that point on, where Les goes, I follow.

I'm the on ewho asked him that question aftet the Tennessee game in 2005. I'm disappointed like everybody else, but hell DA HAT averages 11 wins a year. So I say we'll be fine.

Well, unlike some goody-two-shoes fans who believe in a coach from the get-go as soon as he arrives, I like to see if a coach can earn his keep before I trust him.
Miles just stepped in a situation following a coach who was extremely popular here and who many believed in because they felt he had unquestioned authority.
But, Les has earned his keep. He's put in work and done right by most folks. Some changes need to be made. I'm not ready to write this season off.

And with Les it's always the team... Damn Strong Football"..whereas his predecssor it was all about him. And if you notice OSU beat Mizzou with Mile's talent.

I bet Les was breathing fire and eating nails this afternoon.

I'm not writing this season off, either, and I agree he's earned his keep. He could go 6-6 and he's still going to get 2 more years. If he doesn't, no one is going to want to come coach here...you gotta be careful about that. Clemson, for instance, was justified. It was time. LSU's job is safe, no matter what UF did to us.
My whole thing is I neevr had to write the season off because this is somewhat expected. I had us down for 10-2 with losses to Auburn and Florida. Replace Auburn with Bama or UGA or both and that's pretty much what I expected.

ditto that. add a conf champ and a nat'l champ to that too! even if we finish with a 3-4 loss season, relax tiger nation, we'll be right back...les has proven time and again over the last 3 years what a great coach he is.

I sure hope so. Looking forward to seeing marked improvement this weekend.

I heard Les lined up in front of the OL with no pads and starting going off on MFers.
Turned his hat backwards too. The white cap on backwards equals bad news.

I threw that out at some Bammers today....according to them the reason why we are struggling as well as Auburn and Tennessee in some way all have to do directly with Saban and his impact.

The thing is....he can at least say that he gave some assistants their chance to prove themselves......

What is this "wife" query to which you allude?
I have been a fanatical Tiger fan for over a decade and I even attended the Arizona State game at Tempe in 2005, but I don't remember this question?

One loss and everybody is jumping off the Les Miles has big balls bandwagon. You people suck and I am getting tired of hearing about it. The guy is a good coach who has lost 7 games in 3 and half seasons coaching here. Wait until he loses 5,6,7 games in a season before you jump all over him. I am really starting to hate a lot of LSU fans and their pathetic attitude.
