They are about to narrow I-10 between College and the river to two lanes for construction. Every day will feel like an accident for miles in either direction from there. It's going to suck even more than it does now.
And for whatever reasons, accidents happen super frequently in this region, especially involving big rigs. A commute from Gonzales is a minimum 90 minutes wasted every day at rush hour. And some days more than that.
Not worth it unless you have kids in public schools in AP.
