The Les Mile's Guarantee....

... is that by the time the season is done and over with you will be proud with what has been accomplished.
It has happened every year since he's been our coach.
In 05 we had painful losses to Tennessee and to UGA. Then we decimated the storied Miami football program in the last ever Peach Bowl. That made the season a good one.
In 06, we loss in Auburn and Florida, yet wound up in the Sugar Bowl and decimated the storied Notre Dame football program.
In 07 - well, we all know how that went. Decimated the storied Ohio State football program.
'08 - who will be our next bowl victim? Maybe we'll wind up in a sub-BCS bowl against a good opponent and blow them out the water. Maybe we'll play Florida in the SECCG, win, and get to play Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl (ha ha ha), maybe, just maybe....
all I'm saying is this season, like all, comes with the Hat Guarantee. You will be happy by the end ... but the ride will be bumpy as hell!

I can honestly say that I haven't lost any confidence in Miles or his "damn strong football team." We are gonna be just fine, get in a good bowl game, and play hard and with a lot of heart for the remainder of this season. GEAUX TIGERS

Finished?
We're just getting started.
People forget - the 2006 season started off 4-2.
And in 2006 we hadn't really beaten anyone at that point either, we had beaten ULL, Arizona, Tulane, and State by that point, with losses to Florida and Auburn.
The 2005 season started 1-1.
I think its the point total that has folks the most concerned. But with a gambler like Les for a coach - that's bound to happen from time to time. A more conservative coach may have lost that game 34-21 or 41-21. I seriously think Les thought we had a shot at winning until our last failed 4th down attempt - he just does not give up.
I think some of the players were taking our ability to come back for granted though. Trash talking when you're down by 20 is just ridiculous.

Well if it is a heatrending Loss, then most likely we would probably lose to Alabama. We get into a sub bowl game and destory whoever is there. Maybe OU or Mizzou
Posted on 10/13/08 at 1:21 am to Duzz
We will beat Bama. We'll probably lose another game but it won't be bama. Maybe UGA or Ole Miss or even Arkansas. But not bama.
Then we go to the SECCG and play Florida and get revenge and go to the Sugar Bowl.

After that could you ruin another cheer from our quickly fading playlist....that would be great. I'm sure you yell kick their arse on first downs too, sweet. Eventualy we can tell the band to stay home because our sudent section has to put a curse word into EVERY cheer we do which causes them to pull it from the playlist. Keep it up.

I will be there, but will not be yelling "SUCK COCK" at any time. If you feel opposite of me, feel free.
I hear these are some of the best football fans in the country in Columbia. I want them to think the same about us. Some southerners care not for foul language and play on words in front of women and tikes. Just sayin.

Do you think you could perhaps, grow up between now and Saturday, so you don't embarrass our fan base?

In three weeks when SC, Georgia and BAMA fall we will right back in the mix.........One thing about LES he will not a performance like this go without warrant........relax and hope for a run to SECCG against Florida on a neutral field.....

31.
Some people might have a problem bringing their young children to a game where an entire section of students yells "YOU SUCK COCK" in unison. Its one thing to get drunk and yell and talk trash, but that's taking it too far. Maybe its just me, but I think we should make the games a place where a family can bring their kids, so their kids can grow up to be Tiger fans.
Personally if I had kids I would take them no matter what the student section was yelling - but others might be turned off by it but the TigerNation needs their kids, too.
Not to mention simple class and self respect. "YOU SUCK, COCK" - how retarded of a cheer is that?

+1 on stopping those kind of student section chants. Not just because they are classless, but because they are so fricking stupid and childish and really don't say much for the average intelligence of either our students or our entire fanbase. When you yell "YOU SUCK, COCKS," the opposing team and fans don't think you're clever or funny, and everyone just thinks you're pretty much a mindless moron.

I'm glad you agree, I was starting to think I was the only one left that supports common decency in public. And I don't mean "sportsmanship" I'm completely for the players exercising good sportsmanship - but the fans don't have to nor should they. But there are still limits. You can't just say anything - unless you really don't mind the world thinking you're an arse.
If they want to yell "YOU SUCK COCK" they should do it to the SC fans faces on an individual basis before and after the game instead of from the safety of a mob.

I don't see the "kick their arse" cheer dying soon.
Posted on 10/13/08 at 2:26 am to caliendo
"Kick Their arse" is hardly the same thing. "Kick Their arse" has been used to encourage people to win games for years.
On the other hand, sucking cock refers to the insertion of a penis into a woman - or man's - mouth.
I'm not a parent, but if I was, I think I'd much rather explain what it means to "kick arse" instead of what it means to "suck cock" to my kid.
If you can't see the difference between those two, then I don't know what to tell you.

Columbia is a dump town but they have a great fan base and an impressive stadium. Fans really get into the game and they have some pretty cool things they do during the game.
LSU fans were extremely annoying this weekend in gainesville. So many times I heard "Go frickin Tigers". I remember thinking, how embarrassing. Not saying all their fans were a-holes but I did run into quite a few. Their cockiness was ridiculous. They were acting like they were this unbeatable "juggernaut" team that was going to steamroll our Gators in the swamp....at night.
One guy had a sign that said "homo" and he was stopping traffic and holding it up to students he thought looked lame. Literally standing in the middle of the road. They were tailgating at Norman Field for anyone who made the trip and might have been in that area
