Disturbing the Peace
A person in Louisiana commits the crime of disturbing the peace by:
fighting
calling a person names or saying something offensive or annoying
appearing in public intoxicated
participating in any act in a violent and disorderly manner with three or more people
participating in an unlawful assembly
interrupting a lawful assembly, or
disrupting or obstructing a funeral, funeral procession, burial, or memorial service.
For example, a person who gets into a fight in a bar or yells a racial slur on the street could be convicted of disturbing the peace in Louisiana, as could a group of teens fighting on the street. In order to be convicted of disturbing the peace, the prosecution must show that the defendant had reason to know that his or her actions would upset the public.
(La. Rev. Stat. § 14:103.)
Actually easily could be convicted of Disturbing the peace.
Would love to see these young college kids get convicted, no big deal until they try to get a job at a major company and their application gets put in the trash can for a conviction.
Yes, this is what happens when good companies can have the pick of the litter, they eliminate people that make bad decisions and those with a criminal record are eliminated.
