I had something like this happen to me when I got a brand new iPhone 6 plus back in 2015. Screen would flicker and become unresponsive. Phone was brand new in perfect condition and Apple was going to charge me to fix it.

That was the day I switched to Android and never looked back.

Still dead, waiting to discharge and see what coming back from a dead battery does. Pretty confident I was doing hard reset correctly and had done it multiple times. Have a new phone already. Nature of my business precludes me being without one unfortunately. I usually go 4 years or so with an iPhone, the 11 pro in question only gave me 30 months of service.
