Purebreds are adopted at a much faster pace than mixed breeds. Charging more for something more in demand is basic economics. It also helps pay for the mixed breeds and older dogs to have a shelter longer than they would normally due to upcharge on purebreds providing capital to invest in larger facilities.

Why is this hard for people to understand.

Where did I say anything about the cost to adopt the dog? That’s not what I’m talking about. I don’t give a frick what these rescues charge to adopt. The point is they’re not being adopted out because the rescues place unrealistic standards own potential owners and deny their applications. Then they hop on social media to beg for donations and brag about how righteous they are.

Be truthful, it’s because the insane amount of fricking pitbulls that this is happening.
