When you read quotes in historical figures own words, you usually see them seeing themselves as the good guy. With this quote it seems that he is saying he is not the good guy. Or is he saying he is on the side of love? Confusing quote.

It is confusing. Good question.
As you note, most people regard themselves as the "good" guy.
So was Goebbels so deluded to believe the Nazis actions and goals were "principled" in the context of "Christ"-like? Or is he conceding the context here that the Nazis' philosophy was closer to the principles of Marx (an authoritarian AND anti-Christ / atheist)?
