Maybe 12 years old….coming back from a duck hunt he watched me as I ran a 20’ flatboat onto a mud flat. Never once corrected me. Just said,”push pole is right there. And always stay towards the outside of a turn. Get me a beer before you start pushing.”

A few years later, he refused to help me change the starter on my old truck. I learned what happens when you do not disconnect the battery and allow the wrench to touch both the starter and the frame of the truck. Sparks fly!!

In both instances,”…learned lesson are remembered.”
