Some will have the stones/$/legal network to effectively win, many will negotiate out of it at a reasonable cost & some will get their asses raped.

When a company is served by a class-action suit, their legal will push very hard to settle. All it takes is one case to go to trial, with a big verdict result, to get EVERYONE to back the frick up. That's why you are now seeing companies suddenly backtracking. They've been knee-deep in meetings with their lawyers.
