Looks like some type of sedge. Does it stay pretty wet?

If you really want to know you can pull some out of the ground and look at the stem. Sedges will have a triangular shape to their stem.

It’s some variety of nutsedge. Don’t know if it’s good for deer but it’s the bane of my existence as a golf course superintendent. shite is damn near impossible to kill or remove due to its tubers

You better get your aTm self out of my territory baw. Only Tiger fans allowed in these woods. We catch you and you will be on all fours squealing like a pig.

Same thing for us. We’ve sprayed sedghammer, dismiss, Celsius, and a few others with no luck. We’ve stared to just cut it out and re sod our biggest problem areas. The kyllinga is also getting into our greens pretty bad.

We get some of that at our place in Avoyelles. Kind of resembles the random shoots of grass that'll grow in your flower beds. I've never seen anything eat it and doesn't seem bothered by water.

Thanks I guess it’s some sort of sedge. Going to try and disc it while it’s dry and see if some better native browse pops up

Long way from the marshes of Lake Arthur to the beautiful piney wood of Rapides Parish.
We hang em high up here in Cenla.
