It's clear you're not really an LSU fan. If you think missouri is on the same playing field as any of teams in west ,except for maybe the Mississippi schools you're in for a rude awaking.

Have you ever been to a sec campus?

Mizzou's budget will have to increase, if only for travel.

Sending volleyball and tennis teams to Gainesville every year will add up.

Hopefully you will understand that a top 20 recruiting class will put you in the bottom half of the SEC. And, you are going to have to do something about that stadium as I will expect you will be ridiculed mercilessly by visiting fans.

Completely understand and our Admin has some substantial plans in place. The bar will need to be raised within the program, of that, there is little doubt. Ten years ago I would have been very leery of a move to the SEC given the internal view and support of the athletics programs by the University. Our admin has proven ,over the last ten years, that they are dedicated to the football program as well as the athletics department as a whole and they are dedicated to changing the very fabric of Mizzou athletics culture within the state.

It takes time to change and tune the athletics culture at a University and that process is still ongoing. It really is a measuring stick to see where the program was and how far it has come. This move to the SEC is a sure sign of the improvements.

Mizzou has much work to do, and I admire our University's leadership for rising to the challenge of competing in the finest athletic conference in the country.

I dont expect any respect to be given. Mizzou will have to either earn that, or not, on the field.

I understand the criticism from the perennial powers in the SEC. I mean, that is some record of excellence and tradition.

But Arkansas? Really? Sorry, just not buying into that spin that they are far superior to Mizzou on the athletic field. In fact, the numbers dont support it either.

So you could beat them this year, or even last year? I look at Arkansas differently with the petrino.

I think Missouri has some of the same problems as Arkansas does, Isolation and lack of recruiting. I just feel
Like going forward as long as petrino is at Arkansas they will be good in football.

Now your basketball is better, no question.

Your baseball will be the worst program in sec by a 1000 miles!

I guess I would say stop living in 2008. what do you look like going forward?

But hey they have all this money compared to Mizzou but can't dominate them on the athletic field.

Just seemed strange that you weren't part of the shite throwing on the rant last week, my apologies.

I mostly stay on this board or more sports board. I have an interest in Mizzou, went there in 98' then transferred, I don't like or care for that part of Missouri. Mizzou stepped up to the plate for Joplin in holding a basketball game here, baseball team raised money for Joplin little leagues, football team came down. I'm warming up to Mizzou.

Missouri does not beat us last year or this year. The series is 2 to 3 in over 110 years.

This is my point. Arkansas and Tennessee spend a lot of money getting deep south kids to come to their universities among recruits across the country. Our in-state talent isn't as good as LSU's or Alabama's to draw from but it IS better than Missouri and we both have more money and closer to the talent pools.

Arkansas and Tennessee's location is better than Missouri's because we are surrounded by better talent. Therefore, Missouri must spend a lot of money to attract kids that far north. Not to mention Texas kids, who attend Missouri, will no longer be playing games close to home unlike before.

Kentucky plays every year other year in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina and it hasn't helped their recruiting so why will it help Missouri?

You realize we never play Mizzou, right?

We're 1-1 vs them in the last 20 years.

I feel like we'll dominate them as much as we dominate Carolina.

5 games and the series is 2 to 3 how the hell is that dominating especially in the BCS era it's 1 to 1?

You do realize the last time we played was in 2008 with Nutt being fired the week before. The programs aren't even similar between Nutt and Petrino.

We are on our way to Back to Back 10 win seasons in the Toughest Division of college football ever. Missouri on the other hand played in the worst Division of college football ever.

How is Missouri going to compete with less money, less in-state talent and farther removed from other states talent pools?

So far no one has been able to answer that but me.. Spending money to attract kids that far north is the only way possible.

We must go to a 9 game conference schedule or we will only play Mizzou once every 12 years according to Mr. SEC.

quote:

"A Missouri associate AD said yesterday that the school’s cross-divisional rival is “more than likely to be Texas A&M.” No newsflash there.

And with an eight-game schedule, that means Arkansas will travel to Columbia — and vice versa — about once every 12 years.

And that’s one of many reasons we continue to tell you what we’ve been saying since last month — The SEC will adopt a nine-game schedule at some point. It must.

Aside from its schedule, MU will have to make a few other adjustments when it arrives in the SEC."
