You don't understand money and market share

The Texas tv market is twice bigger than the entire SEC West combined
then you have aTm and whether or not politics will allow them to come to the SEC alone, and then the question of how power aTm is in the eyes ESPN in terms of eyeballs on the tube.

No way. This subject has been kicked around for quite a while...there is absolutely no way the SEC wasn't preparing for the aftermath of a conference realignment.
Once the dominoes really start falling, we will see the SEC's position become instantly clear.
I think its a great credit to our Conference Office that everything on our end is very low-key, while there is turmoil, name-calling, and confusion in the Big 12.

Certainly not good for the fans, sure puts the limits on travel for fans, not to mention, higher expenses for the schools...
The PAC-10 will rape those hillbillies from the midwest with travel expenses!

It has been known that Slive has been talking to A&M about coming to the SEC for months.
I like the SEC's approach to this. There is no need for the conference to get all knee-jerk and just start adding teams that don't make sense just to have more teams. Remember, every team we add gets an equal share in the pie ($209 million this year compared to $139 million in the Big XII). We want to make sure that whoever we add increases the pie sufficiently to make a move worth it to the current 12 members.
Texas A&M makes a lot of sense because they aren't high maintenance and full of themselves like Texas is, yet they are a lucrative program and also provide exposure to a huge market from both a fan standpoint and football recruiting. They are also a great regional fit and a good fit into the SEC mentality.
Texas thinks they are an entity unto themselves. They will learn like Notre Dame has learned that those days are over in college football.

Yeeeeah....gotta disagree with you there. But I couldn't care less about that. Hell, look at my fellow Bama fans.

Curious how their Athletic Department could have been $16 million in debt last year...

True on both counts.

Absolutely. They will fit like a hand in a glove. The road trips will be epic for all involved.
