it's hilarious to me that people think that A&M changing conferences is going to change the status quo. All of our schools recruit the top kids in Texas. The fact that their momma might see them on local TV doesn't change a damn thing.
Most of the Texas kids will go to UT and OU. A mid-tier program changing conferences isn't going to change that.

This is pretty weak. You dont know much about recruiting.
Secfan-You obviously weren't alive in the State of Texas in the 80s and 90s. Things were nothing like they are now. A&M easily had more fan support as well as better recruiting. Slocum and Jackie got whoever they wanted. Also, things didn't really get this good for the orange & white till they won that rose bowl game against Michigan. Many of them were still not happy with Mack up until that point.
Anywho, I agree with the OP of this thread. I think this move greatly helps A&M for a number of reasons. It will help Arkansas and LSU in the same way it helps teams like OSU, maybe not OU (time will tell). Playing eachother and being in the same conference are very different things. Being in the same conference gets you on local news highlights, gets more SEC games period on TV, and makes people care because their Aggies have to play these teams.
