acc has transformed into a yankee basketball conference. fsu, clemson, vt are pissed about it right now.

Did anyone hear UNC's A.D. (Chancellor? Her last name was "Yow") on Sirius 91 yesterday?
She had a very loaded comment about growing up with an 8 team, Southern ACC, and now it stretches from Miami to Upstate New York.
It just made me think maybe some of the ACC schools aren't really happy. We'll see.

UNC's AD is a lame duck who has already announced his retirement. He was John Swofford's (ACC Commissioner) protege when Swofford was the UNC AD. UNC is actively pursuing SCar's AD, who is a UNC grad, which may open some eyes to the SEC. However, Jim Delaney (B10 Commish) played basketball at UNC for Dean and has a law degree from the school. UNC will be very academic minded how they approach expansion (letting schools into the ACC) and if they feel like abandoning the ACC because it's no longer their country club, they will want the B10 and the B10 will want them.
I do think the new ACC spanning from Boston & Upstate NY to Miami will be their undoing. I grew up in the Carolinas and attended a few ACC basketball tournaments before they added Flordia State, and it was like attending a neighborhood swim meet for the fans, but the media treated it like the Super Bowl.

i did not, but it is understandable that AD's be somewhat annoyed by this development. I would assume that UNC's travel budget immediately increased, but the supposed increases revenue from this addition have not.

Yow is the AD at NC State. NC State would be in SEC in five seconds if their fans actually had any say in it.
