The Stalingrad Protocols

I’m somewhat of an Eastern Front nerd and I actually found out about this book by tweeting Dan Carlin for a recommendation of any Soviet memoirs from the war. I had read probably 10 German memoirs but couldn’t find much from the Soviet side. He responded to my tweet and told me about this book. I bought it and just finished it. It’s exceptional to say the least. One of the most fascinating things to me is how the Soviets just didn’t care about life basically (akin to the Japanese). This book is translated interviews done pretty much right after the battle of Stalingrad ended. Some are actually during the battle. A lot of it is uncensored which is rare because Stalin was paranoid about censorship and making himself look the most glorious.
