The New York Knicks pulled the trigger on retaining point guard Chauncey Billups for next season. Billups was part of the big and dramatic Carmelo Anthony trade at mid-season bringing him and Melo from Denver to New York.
quote:

"Chauncey, Amare and Carmelo are a great nucleus, as we continue to look to improve our team going into the offseason," team president Donnie Walsh said in a statement. "Chauncey is an extremely talented and experienced point guard - we are very happy to have him back."

Good decision on their part, but the heart of the matter is getting their two stars Melo and Amare to play defense. Good luck with that D'Antoni'.
