Lane Kiffin: Sam Leavitt Is Healthy, Now It's About Building Chemistry

LSU Sports Photography
During the Baton Rouge Rotary Club this week, head coach Lane Kiffin was asked about quarterback Sam Leavitt's health as he returns to full strength following the Lisfranc injury he suffered last season at Arizona State.
Leavitt underwent surgery in early November 2025 to repair the injury, followed by a minor procedure in April to remove the hardware from his foot.
The redshirt junior from West Linn, Oregon, was unable to participate in spring practice but has been working out with the team and is expected to be a full-go for Week 1 against Clemson.
Kiffin said Leavitt is "full-strength," with the primary focus now on building chemistry and timing with LSU's new receivers and the rest of the offense.
