LSU coach Ed Orgeron spoke to the media on Tuesday during a virtual press conference and confirmed that defensive lineman Nelson Jenkins has opted out of the season.

Orgeron said that he has not had contact with Jenkins in two weeks.


The Plaquemine native is a former three-star prospect in LSU's 2018 signing class.

This really does not make sense unless he is leaving the team. You get an extra year added to your eligibility.
