LSU signed four-star linebacker Michael Divinity from Marrero, LA to the 2016 class but missed out on four-star linebacker Erick Fowler who flipped his commitment from LSU on Wednesday and signed with Texas. Moving Thornton to linebacker will give the Tigers more depth at that position.

Thornton has the perfect size and skill set to play linebacker. He looks and plays just like Beckwith at the same age.
