LSU head coach Jay Johnson spoke with reporters after the Tigers' midweek win over Nicholls and provided an injury update on outfielder Chris Stanfield.

Stanfield has missed the last three games with a hand injury he suffered in the second game of the season vs. Milwaukee.

Johnson confirmed that there is no structural damage to his hand and that he is improving as the swelling goes down.

I hope he has a great year, could really make some money for himself if he improves his bat and swipes a few more bags.

I don’t think there’s a player on this LSU team that projects worse in today’s MLB than Stanfield. Valuable college player though
