Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson was selected No. 13 overall in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams.

Simpson was the 2nd quarterback selected in the 2026 Draft, behind Fernando Mendoza, who went No. 1 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Post-Draft Analysis- ESPN:
The future at quarterback in Los Angeles is secured with Simpson joining to be the understudy to Matthew Stafford. Simpson has been the most discussed player in the predraft process -- and he ranks No. 40 on my personal board -- but the Rams clearly liked what they saw in his one season as a starter at Alabama. Simpson's accuracy, poise and ability to move outside of the pocket will fit perfectly in coach Sean McVay's offense that's dictated by timing and pace in the passing game. -- Miller
