re: History lesson on 90s football? - LSU91MBA
Essentially, that is true... although Arnsbarger did recruit, just not as strongly in LA, and ehen he lost that base of home grown talent, the end was in sight. Archer could not recruit the out-of-state kids that Arnsbarger had, and the solid LA base was gone... not until Saban arrived did LSU re...

re: Keep an eye on other coaching hires - LSU91MBA
In those 4 years, the 'gold standard' in College Football has been Alabama. Ole Miss 2 times, aTm with a Heisman trophy QB, once, and Ohio State in a National Champuonship year once....has anyone else beaten them? LSU under Miles lost some games, but I don't think anyone else in the country h...

re: What are realistic expectations for LSU next year regarding W-L's. - LSU91MBA
10-2, 9-3....same as every year for LSU. Winning 8 is almost a certainty, 9 is 'average' 10 is good, not great and more than 10 is very successful, regardless of who the coach is and whether or not it includes a 'championship'... 11, 12, 13 or 14 wins amazing results in the league we play in. ...

re: Think how much excited we could be right now if these things happened - LSU91MBA
If Ed screwed up LSU getting a fully committed 4 star, State of MS record-setting QB, by "offering" a 5 star that we had not recruited at all... well, he fricked up and I can dare say, that may become the calling card for his time. I'll give Ed a chance, and I didn't want Fisher and don't think Herm...

re: Think how much excited we could be right now if these things happened - LSU91MBA
Had Miles hired a new OC last year, like he should have. All is well and regardless of 2016 tecord, we are a more stable program. We made a change for the sake of change, it appears. No real evidence of any program improvement. ...

re: How bad would the melt be if... - LSU91MBA
LSU at 10-2 implies a victory in the SECCG... dumbass
It's a completely hypothetical scenario = so, my assumption is that LSU would have played all 12 of it's regular season games in this scenario. The results being -- Loss to UW and loss to Auburn... win over Alabama, and that...

Hmm, who did FSU lose to this season? Not so sure they "roll" anybody. Melt or no melt... I'd love to see the match up as a good game....

re: QB's to beat Saban since 2012 - LSU91MBA
Bama had several 'uncharteristic' mistakes and turnovers. Fumbled kickoffs, etc. The odds just worked against them those days. Line them up 10 times, Bama wins 7 or 8 of the 10, I'm fairly confident. In Miles' time at LSU we had a 4th quarter lead in at least half or games against Bama. Nob...

re: You do realized Aranda signed a 3 year contact when he came to LSU - LSU91MBA
You do realize that Aranda was under contract at Wisconsin when LSU signed him a year ago, surely? They all have buyouts, and that's what happens, bigger program, more money comes along and they jump. The hiring Scholls pays the buyout, or in many cases if they are being promoted it's waived... ...

re: I think we can all come together here on the rant and agree: Miles gone = Great - LSU91MBA
The Michigan rumors in 07 and the Arky bull shite were both made up by him to get a raise from us.
Well respected former (then current) AD Skip Bertman disagrees and has said so publically many times. Miles turned down more money from UM to stay at LSU - he loved LSU and was loy...
With our shortage of RB's in the next few yrs
:dunno: what "shortage? Guice, Williams, Brosette, Ducre, and then some --- plus, don't you think we'll sign at least 1 good one per year the next 2 years (and beyond)? Shortage of RBs is not our problem.... now if you mean our sh...

re: Devin White at RB - LSU91MBA
Because he'd be no higher than 4th string RB, while he was ~2nd or 3rd team LB, and we had/have a real NEED at LB. Pretty simple really --- he wanted to see the field. We have a lot of great RBs... no so "loaded" at LB....

re: O tends to respond to popular demand - LSU91MBA
but safe
True --- just boring in my opinion to watch the kick go over the KR's head, out of the endzone, and ball placed on the 25 yard line. I get the "safe" part --- and I wish we could kick it out of the endzone to avoid a big return, but whether coaching or talent --- we hav...

For what it's worth --- kicking the ball out of the endzone every time for a touchback --- whether we are the kicking team or the return team is pretty boring football to watch. ...

re: O tends to respond to popular demand - LSU91MBA
I'm glad to see he is willing to make changes... that's a start. Now, was in BDP or lack of talent that has kept LSU as one of the only teams that cannot kick the ball into/out of the endzone with regularity? We stopped the "pen them in the corner" kick strategy, but we still couldn't kick the...

re: LSU #21 in AP and coaches poll, Florida 15/16 Auburn 18/19 - LSU91MBA
My take: We lost to both Florida and Auburn. Both teams not headed to the CFP that are ranked ahead of us. Assume, Florida loses to Bama in SECCG --- they may drop a bit -- but would they drop below an LSU team that they just beat on the road? Auburn doesn't play again --- so only comparis...

re: Interesting luggage spotted in Detroit airport today.. - LSU91MBA
Miles is just a "regular guy" doing regular things. People wanting him fired, then bitchingvtgat he gets a buyout...which is paid in monthly checks, not a lump sum, should just STFU. He was very good to and for LSU. Period....
