re: F. King called Sankey Saturday Morning - Dusty Bottoms
I do believe it is probable that F. King wants to do a reset on his image with students and football fans. I think it is POSSIBLE he told some fans that he said and did these things in a deliberate, self serving effort to restore his image. I think it is extremely unlikely he actually said or...

re: Roy King is suing LSU - Dusty Bottoms
Even if he accomplishes nothing else, he has totally exposed the School of Music leadership and their attempted money grab. Agree with the OP's that if half of the allegations are true, the university and the leadership involved here look really really bad....

This has not been a problem for me. If they are properly trained, that barrier is always top of mind. And I say this as an owner of the highest strung dog there is - a border collie....

re: Underground Pet Fence - Dusty Bottoms
Not hard. Mine covers around 10 acres and took 1 day to install. It is an innotek brand, and we have 1 collar. Be sure to get the lightning surge protector and protect the system. I bought it from dogfencediy.com. Their price was either best or very competitive, and their customer service and s...

re: Garage door opener problems - Dusty Bottoms
Everyone is saying sensors, but it may not be that at all. If the door is dropping all the way to the floor and then going back up, it probably isn't a sensor problem. The chain is running past the hard stop, the door believes it has hit something and then retreats back up. The stop may simply ne...

re: Propane tank purchase vs. rental - Dusty Bottoms
As someone mentioned, the delivery fees alone make it worthwhile to get a larger tank. A 100 gallon is really small, and to my knowledge, propane does not go bad....

re: First Time Garden - Dusty Bottoms
Contain the roots or they will be all up in your raised bed next year!
No. If you don't want them to spread, you need to bury edging around the plants. Otherwise, they will start popping up in your nice raised bed soil a year from now....

re: planting Blackberries - Dusty Bottoms
Go with an erect variety so that you don't have to trellis. I have Apache. They are huge berries and very sweet. Only drawback is with big berries come big seeds. Important to know: Roots will spread and you will have canes sprouting next year 10-15 feet from where you plant if you do not sect...

re: This is what Aranda used to lead the nation in scoring defense last year. - Dusty Bottoms
Not to dampen the expectations, because I think Aranda will do a great job, but his defense wasn't playing against 4 and 5 star offensive guys every week either....

re: Anyone ever planted pumpkins? - Dusty Bottoms
Plant the seed 1/2 inch deep end of July and forget it. They are no maintenance. I've never fertilized mine, and they do fine. Wife likes to put pinestraw under the pumpkins to keep them off the wet ground, but even that is not necessary. Just be aware, if you have deer in the area, they will wi...

re: How about them gardens? - Dusty Bottoms
When do you pick?
Sweet corn has a short window of just a few days when it is ideal for picking. Be sure to test a few ears every day once the tassels begin turning brown. It is better to err on the early side than late, especially if you are freezing many of the ears. If you m...
