Difficulty of games is not even comparable. Baseball has 2nd most actual action time (17 minutes) compared to 11 minutes for NFL but not a physical violent sport and starting pitchers play 20% of games at most. Basketball players have the most action but again not even close to physicality of footba...
Relative to each other, baseball and basketball players make gobs more and see all of their money...
9.5 billion in Revenue for 2015 25 man opening day rosters ( so 750 total) No salary cap so teams can spend as they wish = Huge contracts...
I can just imagine them laughing to themselves at home reading about people going crazy over 87 million guaranteed for luck(really only 47 fully guaranteed) while they sign 100,200,300 million contracts that are all guaranteed....
I don't see how they can make it more popular. The season competes with NHL and NBA playoffs along with Summer MLB and all the soccer tournaments...

Why is the Indians Attendance so bad?

Cleveland's average attendance is 16,656 which is the worst in MLB and is down from 17,242 last year. The team is really good at 47-30. They have some really exciting players in Lindor, Uribe, Kluber,Salazar and it's the summer, the cavs season is over and Cleveland doesn't have all that much else. ...
He doesn't get 35% the first year it starts at a lower amount than 37.8 million so his deal would be around 5 years - $207 million and I would sign him based on how this season goes, he's into his 30's and athleticism is only going downwards and you don't pay for past performance you pay for future ...
I think he's gonna break the $40 million annual salary mark after he opts out for 2019...
Or maybe seeing how bad the dodgers are without him will enhance his mvp case...

I think teams have insurance but the team doesn't get cap relief from a medical retirement until the season after the player retires so if bosh retired this summer, the heat would get cap relief in 2017...
