Didn't he do this last year? I'll be shocked if Wade is not in a Heat uni next year. He will be a Heat lifer imo

I like JR on this team. What type of contract would Wade command? If Wade is ok with limited minutes and playing relentless defense, I guess I'd let him play on the best player in the world's team.

Guy has taken pay cuts on handshake agreements and now had to play hardball with the Heat two offseasons in a row. After delivering them 3 championships and Lebron. Time for the Heat to stop getting a reputation for being a player friendly organization.

Ha! Busted up D-wade overplaying his star status. Like any other team is going to pay his geriatric arse big money. He outta just sign the offer sheet the heat extend to him and ride out his career as mayor of south beach while playing 45 games a year and a 2nd round playoff exit. Better that than start ring chasing like Paul Pierce did. The days of flash being a factor in this league are through. Pat Riley knows this. Wade's agent is trying to excite the market and get wade a better deal, but the jig is up. Wade is not a max guy anymore

I was shocked to find out that D-Wade has never been the highest paid player on the heat at any time in his career

Yep, Shaq, Shawn Marion, Jermaine O'Neal,Lebron,Chris Bosh all made more when they played together

In that case, I really don't blame him at all for trying to make as much money as he can before he retires

Yup same thing occurred with LeBron til he came back to Cleveland. Was never the highest paid player on any team until last season. Bosh was the highest paid heat player during their time there

Maybe Heat are aiming for a full-on rebuild. I'm betting they think they can get a settlement for Chris Bosh to terminate his contract as well. They could offload Bosh and Wade in the same offseason.

More likely scenario is that this is all posturing and Wade re-signs.
